A 16-year-old Nigerian girl, Stephany Ugboaja Chizobam, has emerged the best candidate in the 2019 West African Examination Council (WAEC) results.
This became known after WAEC released the results of candidates who sat for the 2019 May/June West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
Stephany who sat for the examination at the Jesuit Memorial College in Port Harcourt, scored distinctions in all nine subjects she took.
She made A1 in General Mathematics, English Language, Further Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Civic Education, Data Processing and Physics.
Meanwhile, the examination body disclosed that a total of 1,020,519 obtained credits and above in a minimum of five subjects including English and Mathematics. This number was out of the 1,596,161 candidates who registered for the examination in 18,639 recognised secondary schools in Nigeria.
