An orphan, Hauwa Muhammad, has graduated top of her class and won awards in 7 subjects as the overall best student in her senior secondary school.
A native of Gadaka, Yobe State, Hauwa was one of those trained under the scholarship of the Girl Child Concerns – a nongovernmental organisation dedicated to improving lives of youth, particularly girls through improved education opportunities.
Hauwa’s feat was made known in a release by the NGO. “Hauwa Muhammad: One of our scholarship students who is an orphan girl from Gadaka, Yobe state claimed the best overall SS 3 Student in GGSSS, Kawo and also best student in 7 different subjects during the graduating day of the school on 13th July, 2019,” it wrote via its Twitter handle @GCCNigeria.
Many individuals have continued to laud her sterling feat. One of those who commented on the tweet was Adefila Kamal, who expressed willingness to donate handsomely to Hauwa’s education.
“If you ever need an extra hand in training Hausa or those young girls, myself and my organization will donate handsomely towards that. Let’s know how we can be part of this project,” he commented.
