A lady, Elizabeth Ayua, has broken a 26-year record, having graduated with a first class from the Faculty of Law, University of Abuja.
Ayua who shared the news of her academic feat on LinkedIn, noted that it was heartwarming for her to have been celebrated by others during the University’s convocation.
“It was so #heartwarming going through this day. It finally came to pass, June 15th, 2019. With God, I broke the record after about 26 years since the inception of the Faculty of Law, University of Abuja, having graduated with the first 1st Class ever.
“I thank everyone that celebrated with me. All the glory to God,” she wrote.
The post has so far hit more than 800 congratulatory comments and about 5,000 likes.
Congratulating the University scholar, Dr. John Oluoch, a senior lecturer of Communication and Public Relations, Rongo University, Kenya, commented: “Gal power! Congratulations are very well in order. Fire fire.. Look for an LLM scholarship and break that ceiling once again. It’s your game, play on girlie.”
John Terfa Mka, a regional business manager at KWV, who noted that the record-breaking academic feat was a true redefinition of slay queen, stated that Ayua was “Simply redefining the true meaning of SLAY QUEEN, simply brilliant. 26 hearty cheers!”
The University of Abuja was established in 1988 but its Faculty of Law came into being about 5 years later.
