Muhammad Ibrahim Baba, a graduate student of Environmental Science and Engineering at Hohai University Nanging, China, has emerged as overall best student at the United Nations International Students Conference on Environment and Sustainability — ISCES, with his research paper.
A native of Nguru Local Government Area, Yobe State, Baba’s research paper which was hailed as “Excellent Paper of the Conference” was selected out of over 600 submissions made for the conference, which took place between 10 and 15 of June, at Shanghai, China.
Baba had graduated with a First Class degree from Federal University Dutse, Jigawa State, before leaving Nigeria for China to purse his post graduate studies.
In a congratulatory letter addressed to the spokesman to the Yobe State government, Baba’s supervisor, Prof Deqiang Chen, felicitated with Nigeria and the Yobe State for the student’s outstanding performance and iconic representation of his university, state and country at the conference.
The ISCES was initiated mainly as an annual event to provide international students with a platform to work together, exchange ideas and understanding on critical environmental issues and create new solutions.
