Nigeria students who represented the country at the Oguzhan Ozkaya Education Karademin Science, Engineering, and Energy Exhibition Fair (OKSEF) held in Turkey, have won first and second positions of the competition.
The students who were drawn from Imo, Nasarawa and Ondo states won the first position in the junior science category, and second position in the senior science category.
They emerged top at the five-day event which had representations from 60 countries across the world; including four African countries: Nigeria, South Africa, Tunisia and Zimbabwe.
According to Mr. Musa Ali who headed the Nasarawa state contingent to the competition held in Ismir City of Turkey, the youngsters that made Nigeria and the state proud by clinching the first position in the junior category, engineering, are: Fairuza Alkasim and Angel Titus. Both are from Nasarawa Agricultural Development Project – (NADP) School, project Quarters in Lafia, the state capital.
Having won in Nigeria, the states were picked to represent the country in the junior and senior categories of the international event alongside other countries. While the participants from Nasarawa state partook in the junior category; those from Imo and Ondo states partook in the senior category.
Tagged ‘Science Energy and Engineering fair 2019,’ the OKSEF event is hosted annually to encourage high school students to do scientific and technological research by bringing together young people from the same age group around the world to compete abroad; and to make the participation of young people’s projects as a representative, to enlarge their visions and to have a say in the international platform.
