Nemitari Ajienka, 24-year old Nigerian, has emerged the youngest lecturer at Edge Hill University in the United Kingdom.
This is happening barely two months after Nigerians celebrated 27-year-old Dr. Salihu Dasuki for becoming the youngest senior lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University in England.
The 24-year-old native of Port Harcourt expressed his elated gratefulness to have completed his BSc, MSc and PhD programs with distinctions. He also appreciated the effort of one of his lecturers, Dr. Andrea Capiluppi for his unconditional support and PhD supervision. “Special thanks to @DrACapiluppi for his unconditional support and PhD supervision!” he remarked.
Ajienka now works as a lecturer in Computer Science at the University. Proud of being a Nigerian, he announced his resumption as the youngest lecturer at the University on Monday, November 20, on Twitter. He made the announcement with the following words:
”Immensely Grateful. BSc & MSc distinctions & PhD. A new journey now begins at 24; youngest lecturer at Edge Hill University, UK. #PhD #brunel #MDX #Bham #nigeria #proudlynigerian #PortHarcourt”
In response to his announcement on Twitter, the Edge Hill University twitter handle said the management is thrilled to have Ajienka in the school as a lecturer. “We’re thrilled to have you here at Edge Hill, Nemitari!” it replied.
Likewise, many Nigerians have been pouring encomiums on the young academic for the wonderful feat he has achieved. Many of those congratulating him said they are encouraged and urged him to keep the Nigerian flag flying.
