Lagos LG Election: KOWA Preaches Peace During Election


The leadership of Lagos state KOWA party has called for peace as the Lagos state local government election draws closer.

The party, in a statement released on Tuesday, urged all political parties, including the ruling party- All Progressive Congress- to embrace peace and allow the will of the people have it way.

“KOWA Party is poised to promote good governance and true democracy. We wish to admonish the ruling Party to desist from their usual nefarious and already orchestrated plans to rig this forthcoming LGA/LCDAs election on July 22nd.” The statement read.

The young party encouraged Lagos state to live up to its reputation as pace setter by setting the standard for free and fair election that would be emulated across the country.

It also called on civil societies and organizations to work with the government in ensuring peace and order during the June 22 election in Lagos state.

It read: “We use this opportunity to call on Civil Society groups within the State and all security agencies to help ensure that the forthcoming LGA/LCDAs elections are free, fair and devoid of any electoral malpractice”.
