Nigeria’s Adekuoroye Reigns Supreme At Pro Wrestling League

Nigerian Olympian, Odunayo Adekuoroye, at the weekend sustained her remarkable feat for her team, Mumbai Maharathi, at the ongoing pro wrestling league in India. She defeated Pooja Dhanda of Haryana Hammers’ team 4- 2 on day 12 of the championship.

Adekuoroye, who is competing at the tournament, as part of her preparation for the Commonwealth games tagged: Gold Coast 2018, holding between April 4 and 15 in Australia, had beaten Marwa Amri of Veer Marathas 5- 1, her second win of the pro wrestling league season 3.

The world silver- medalist had begun well, winning the first round 4-nil as both wrestlers failed to score a point in the second period that ended 0-0.

The Commonwealth champion will be in action in one of the battles scheduled for today, when her Mumbai Maharathi side battles NCR Punjab royals.

Adekuoroye is expected back in the country next week to continue her training for the forth-coming African senior wrestling championships slated for Port Harcourt between February 7 and 11.
